MAUNTAIN BLACKIPA

The Easter stuff to do… brew a black IPA. Yesterday was a great day – the sun was shining and and the Grainfather G30 had succesful day with med and our dogs. The first warm spring day and lots of fun stuff to do. It is great to be outside and brew in the sun.

The Black IPA was something I have been planning to brew a long time and yesterday I finally took the change even though I had already brewed a batch of DIPA a few days earlier. I have high hopes of this beer since it has lots of hops in it such as Amarillo, Columbus, Centennial and will be dry hopped as well with a reasonable amount of hops (Amarillo & Citra). ABV in teh recipy was 7% but I increased the amount of Pale Ale malt and added 0.1kg torrified oats så it would land somewhere on 8% instead – we’ll see what happens.
